Again with the SH
"Every Angel is Terrifying
" by Nia Stephens.
My comment on it from the SH forum:
"Wow. Lovely. Quickly, quietly hooky. Simple, precise, and beautiful writing. Sags a bit in the middle, but pulls it out at the end. Wish I'd written this one, and glad somebody else did and that it found a home."
Read this. It's cool!
dibs on the first entry
I have tormented some of you, oh indeed, taunted you mercilessly, about what a damn great story The Second Coming of Jasmine Fitzgerald
is. I would talk about how rigorous - and how speculative - the SF was, how I totally dug the narrative voice, how I loved the idea and its darkness and all the other things that made me say WOW.
But, I'd say, with a kind of coy regret, you'd have to buy Ten Monkeys, Ten Minutes to read it...
well, Peter Watts has foiled me. He's got the story up on his website in PDF. Sorry about the split columns for you online readers... but hey, at least now you can read what I've been raving about for the last two years.
and so, our first story. Read it, it's Cool. Current Mood: mmmm.
